About Me

//boy mom//student midwife//jeep enthusiast//doula//marine wife//
I am a marine wife of 17+ years currently living in Yuma, Arizona. My husband and I are both North Carolina natives. I enjoy camping, riding dirt bikes with my husband and our 3 boys, travel, and generally all things outdoors. I am currently a student midwife apprentice at The Midwife's Kitchen Birth Center here in Yuma. We are the only birth center in our area. My husband and I are both Jeep and off roading enthusiast. Before moving to Arizona we lived in our RV full time for the last 3 years in San Diego, and I volunteered as a doula for Operation Doula.

I delivered my two older boys in a naval hospital in North Carolina, and then went on to have my third son at home. The experience changed my entire outlook on birth. It ultimately led me on this journey of doula and midwife. Everyone deserves a midwife!

Philosophy of practice:Midwifery care is unique as we want to be a partner in your well-being before, during, and after pregnancy. Our hope is to provide evidence based education to help support you and your growing family while empowering the pregnant person to take charge of their overall health. Shared decisions between the midwife and pregnant parent are imperative through education and informed consent. Our ability to serve you is dependent on a trusting relationship between the midwife and pregnant parent. Pregnancy and physiological birth are normal events. Through years of education and hands on experience to become a midwife, we are trained to identify risk factors. If risks outside of the midwifes scope do arise, the midwife will inform the pregnant parent immediately in order to arrange for appropriate care that ensures the healthiest pregnancy, labor, and birth.
